Consumer Driven Health Plans > About CDHP 1 and 2 About the Consumer Driven Health Plans

The consumer-driven health plans (CDHP) I and II are high deductible health plans. These plans have higher deductibles, but lower premiums than the Traditional PPO. Until the deductible is met, employees are responsible for the full amount of services and prescriptions. Once the deductible has been met, the CDHPs have an 80/20 co-insurance rate, which means the employee will pay 20 percent of allowable claims after the deductible is met and before out-of-pocket maximums are reached.

For 2011, employees enrolling in Anthem CDHP 1 will pay a biweekly premium of $13.62 for single coverage and $20.16 for family coverage. Those who select the non-tobacco use incentive will have a biweekly premium of $3.62 for single coverage and $10.16 for family coverage.  Deductibles will be $2,500 for single and $5,000 or family coverage, for both in- and out-of-network.

The biweekly premium for Anthem CDHP 2 will be $37.08 for single coverage and $71.64 for family coverage. Those accepting the non-tobacco use incentive will pay $27.08 for single coverage and $61.64 for family coverage each pay period. Deductibles will be $1,500 for single coverage and $3,000 for family coverage for both in- and out-of-network providers.

A companion of the CDHPs, health savings accounts (HSAs) will once again be pre-funded by the state. One-half of the state’s contribution will be deposited into participating employee’s accounts. However, for that to happen, employees participating in a CDHP/HSA plan must open an HSA account with Tower Bank.
