INDIANAPOLIS (December 19, 2007) - Governor Mitch Daniels today appointed Daniel Hackler as director of the Indiana State Personnel Department. Hackler replaces Debra Minott who is returning to the private sector.

Hackler, 58, joined the state in 2005 as the deputy personnel director and was most recently the director of human resources for the Office of Management and Budget. Prior to working for the state, he was the director of human resources for Trimas Corporation and human resources manager for Knauf Insulation GMBH. He also spent more than a decade with subsidiaries of the Temple-Inland Forest Products Corporation - serving as the corporation's director of human resources for three years.
He will begin his duties as state personnel director on December 31, 2007. An Indianapolis resident, Hackler is married and has four children and four grandchildren.
