NOTICE: We do not confirm receipt of items as they are received.

Please allow 4-6 weeks for review of applications and documentation. Upon review of application and additional documentation, you will be notified by email of any missing items.

You may also log onto your MyLicense account to view updates as they are processed. Allow 4-6 weeks for processing of submitted items. Items are processed in the order they are received.

Applicants are responsible for reviewing the application information for their license type for a full list of requirements. Application information for all licenses can be found in the Board's Licensing Information section.  Status updates for new applications will not be provided over the phone.

Effective immediately: Due to statutory requirements regarding processing times for application fees, the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency will no longer accept more than ten (10) fees per individual check for the application or renewal of a license issued by the Indiana Plumbing Commission.

If a check is received with more than ten (10) fees per check, it may result in the return of your check along with the applications or renewals to your program for correction.  Further delays in processing time, as a result of more than ten (10) fees per check, may also lead to potential late fees. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your partnership as we continue to work together to issue licenses as quickly and efficiently as possible.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please email pla14@pla.in.gov.

Important notice regarding changes to the law affecting Registered Plumbing Apprentices:

An individual may apply to be a registered apprentice plumber under this section and may work under the direct and immediate personal supervision of a licensed plumbing contractor or journeyman plumber for one (1) year, so long as the individual has applied for acceptance in a commission-approved apprenticeship program.

A registered apprentice plumber must discontinue working under a licensed plumbing contractor or journeyman plumber if certain events occur.
