Do I have to take the course before I can supervise?

Not necessarily. For any supervising appraiser already associated with a trainee on May 16, 2012, you have until June 30, 2013 to complete the course. For any supervisors who start an association with a trainee after this date, you will have six (6) months from the beginning of the association to complete the course.

Does this course count towards my continuing education?

Yes. This course will count towards the supervisor's continuing education requirements for license or certificate renewal.

What happens if I don't complete this course?

If a supervising appraiser fails to complete the course in the required time (see second question above) the supervisor will be removed as the trainee's supervisor, and the trainee's license will be place in Inactive status.

I have completed the course, what do I do now?

Upon completion of the course, please forward a copy of your course completion certificate to the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, at Please retain the original certificate for future use.

Do I have to take the course again?

Once a supervisor has completed the supervising appraiser course, it will satisfy this requirement for any trainees that appraiser supervises until the end of the third two (2) year renewal period after the last time the course was completed.
