Charlestown Municipal Water Proposed Acquisition
UPDATE: An IURC order was issued on March 14, 2018.
In Cause No. 44976, Indiana-American Water Co. (IAWC) is seeking IURC approval to purchase the assets of the City of Charlestown's municipal water utility. IAWC and the Town jointly initiated the case on August 17, 2017. The OUCC filed a Motion to Dismiss on August 31, 2017.
NOW!, Inc. filed a complaint and investigation request with the IURC on July 7, 2017 regarding the proposed acquisition. The complaint is pending as Cause No. 44964.
The IURC has consolidated the two cases. The OUCC filed the following testimony on November 2, 2017:
