Grants Overview

Indiana Office of Energy Development (OED) administers grant programs funded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s State Energy Program (SEP). SEP provides funding and technical assistance to enhance energy security, advance state-led energy initiatives, develop energy policy and maximize the benefits of decreasing energy waste. OED staff manages more than $1.2 million dollars from SEP annually.

OED awards grants to profit/non-profit entities through various programs each year. The grants promote the use of comprehensive energy policy, alternative power and fuels, energy efficiency, public education concerning energy issues impacting Indiana.

OED funding opportunities are offered on a competitive basis and does not accept unsolicited applications. Guidelines for each opportunity are listed under the eligibility requirements section. OED also partners with other Indiana state agencies and organizations to leverage subject matter expertise and offer a variety of programs to assist grantees. Previous energy partners have included, but are not limited to the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, the Indiana Department of Education and the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.
