The North Manchester Public Library is pleased to announce that Wolf Park, Science Central, Wabash County Museum, Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, and Fort Wayne Museum of Art passes are now available for checkout with a library card! The library has taken on the cost of these memberships so our patrons (Reciprocal excluded) can enjoy these educational and cultural experiences at no charge. (Please note: It is the responsibility of the borrower to call ahead or visit the websites to confirm open times at these locations.)
Who Can Check Out a Pass?
- All card types EXCEPT reciprocal patrons from another library.
- Card holder must be in good standing at the library and should not have any fines or fees on their card.
- Card holder must be a patron for 30 days before checking out a pass.
- Children MUST be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian in order to check out a pass with their library card.
How to Check Out a Pass
The bulletin board at the entrance to the children’s department displays all the memberships we have available. Patrons are encouraged to read the descriptions of each membership, what is included and any restrictions set by the organization (example: Science Central pass can only be checked out once per year per family).
There is a pocket for each pass on the bulletin board. Laminated cards in the pocket will let patrons know if passes are available for checkout or not. The only way to check out a pass is to borrow it when it is available. NMPL can not place holds on passes.
Patron must bring the "This pass is available for checkout" card to the Children’s Desk in order to check out a pass. The laminated card will be traded for the matching lanyard holding the physical pass.
Rules:
- Pass must be kept in lanyard and returned in lanyard.
- Pass must be returned in two weeks or less, regardless of ability to use the pass.
- Pass may not be renewed.
- Pass may not be placed on hold.
- Pass must be returned to a circulation desk - never in the bookdrop.
