Sharp Disposal Container with Needle

Sharps & Prescription Disposal

The Sharps Disposal is a program where the residents of Marshall County can come to the Marshall County Health Department and pick up a free sharps container to dispose of needles, syringes, and lancets properly.

In November of 2023 the Marshall County Health Department started offering this program to the residents of Marshall County. When needles are not properly disposed many people can come in contact with them and can potentially lead to an epidemic of blood-borne pathogens. Our community needs a safe, effective, and efficient way for individuals to dispose of their used needles. The program's preventative measures can help to prevent outbreaks of infectious diseases.

Residents can drop off their used sharps containers at the Marshall County Health Department, Monday-Friday from 8:00 am–4:00 pm. For prescriptions, there is a box located at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. You will always have access to dispose of unwanted prescriptions safely at this location.
