Biographical Note:

Mary Evans Negley was born to David Negley and Martha Lambert, who were married Nov. 12, 1809, in KY.  She had nine siblings, including Lucy, Thomas and Cynthia.  She married Crawford Bell May 29, 1845 in Vanderburgh County, IN.  She died Oct. 24, 1916.

Scope and Content:

The collection consists of 3 typewritten pages (carbon copy) with corrections. 

Mrs. Bell writes about her parents’ background and families, her siblings, the death of her brother Thomas, travels, living on the river, various cities in Indiana and flooding.  She ends the document with “A much abridged Family-History”
