Scope and Content:

The collection consists of a letter written by Bessie [typed Bessoe] S. Beck to Miss Riker of the Indiana Historical Bureau.

She ordered a copy of Gen. Tipton’s papers and detailing her grandparents’ and  parents’ history, as she is the great-granddaughter of Gen. Tipton.  She lists her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren by name (daughters by husbands’ names).  She asks who was Frank C. Townsend, who mentioned her grandfather’s children, of whom she knew there was only one, her mother.  She also mentions her daughter’s family visiting Monument Park, the land for which her great-grandfather (who had fought there in the Battle of Tippecanoe) bought and donated to the State of Indiana.
