Alice Goldthwaite, born May 24, 1869, was the daughter of Simon and Martha Goldthwaite. Her family was one of the early settlers in Marion County. She was known for her leadership skills as well as civic contributions. Goldthwaite was a past president of the Marion Department club and a regent of the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the Gethsemane Episcopal Church. She also traveled extensively. She died on September 7, 1933.

This collection consists of a short letter, dated September 23, 1933, to the Society of Indiana Pioneers. Alice Goldthwaite’s sister, Lucy G. Lindhard, wrote to inform them of her death on September 7, 1933.
