LSTA Webinar to Provide Grant Preparation Tips

Library Services & Technology ActNeed some help completing your LSTA application or budget? Please join LSTA Grant Consultant Jennifer Clifton as she demystifies the grant writing process, while helping you prepare the strongest application possible. The live webinar is scheduled for January 19, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (EST) and covers the following topics:

  • An introduction to LSTA grants and their purpose

  • How to complete and submit the application

  • Outcomes-Based Planning and Evaluation

  • Budgets, cost sharing, and allowable costs

  • Components of a winning application

Four Weeks Remain to Submit Big Read Grants

Big Read Deadline: 02/01/11The Big Read is accepting applications until February 1st from libraries seeking funding to conduct month-long, community-wide reads between September 2012 and June 2013. The Big Read is a national program designed to revitalize the role of literature in American culture. Organizations selected will receive a grant ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, access to online training resources, educational and promotional materials, inclusion of your organization and activities on The Big Read Web site, and the prestige of participating in a highly visible national program. Approximately 75 organizations from across the country will be selected by a panel of experts.

New Years Brings About Several New Library Directors
