Proposed Rule Amendments: February 2016, Appellate E-filing
To the Bench, Bar and Public:
The following rule amendments are posted for public comment:
Electronic Filing and Service in Appeals
The proposed changes to the Appellate Rules provide for electronic filing and service of documents, other than initial case filings, by attorneys in the Indiana Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. The changes provide modifications concerning how conventionally filed and electronically filed documents are to be formatted, filed, and served. The changes also provide for electronic signatures, the time and effect of electronic filing, procedures for excluding court records from public access, and a process for exempting attorneys who are not able to use electronic filing.
The Court invited public comment on these proposed rule amendments through Thursday, March 10. The comment period is now closed.
