IURC APPROVES RATE INCREASE FOR CITY OF BLOOMINGTON

 

Today the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved a settlement agreement between the City of Bloomington and the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor to increase its rates and charges for water service.

 

In Cause No. 42083, the Commissioners agree that it is in the public interest to allow the increase.  Money raised will be used to finance the construction of improvements to the city’s facilities and system. 

 

The table below shows the impact of Bloomington’s 13.86% rate increase of on the average monthly residential bill with an average consumption of 5,000 gallons.  Each amount shown includes the volumetric consumption, service charge and fire protection.
