SUGAR CREEK ENERGY, L.L.C., TO EXPAND AND OPERATE MERCHANT PLANT

The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission today approved a request from Sugar Creek Energy, L.L.C.,  to expand its current facility in Vigo County and operate an additional 550MW power generation.

In Cause 42015, the majority of the Commissioners found the approval of the plant to be in the public interest. The facility will be located on an existing site that adjoins the Wabash River in South Vigo County, Indiana.

To allow the IURC to keep track of electric systems across the state, the order requires the company to keep the IURC informed of progress during construction.  The company is also required to seek prior approval of any transfer of assets owned by Sugar Creek Energy, L.L.C.

Electricity generated at the facility will be sold solely on the wholesale market.  Sugar Creek Energy L.L.C. does not intend and is not authorized by the IURC to sell any electricity generated from this facility to the public on a retail basis.
