RATE INCREASE APPROVED FOR THE CITY OF GOSHEN

Today the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved a rate increase for customers of Goshen’s water company.  The amount is the result of a settlement agreement between the city of Goshen and the Indiana Office of the Utility Consumer Counselor.

In Cause No. 41981, the Commissioners agree that a 33% rate increase is necessary to pay for substantial improvements to the water system.  The increase approved was 5-percent less than the City had originally sought.

A customer who uses 5,000 gallons of water will see their bill go from $8.98 a month to $11.95.

Goshen’s water utility serves approximately 8,618 customers in and around Goshen, Indiana.
