IURC APPROVES INCREASE TO PAY FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CITY OF DELPHI WATER UTILITY

Today the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved a request by the City of Delphi, Indiana Municipal Water Utility to implement a two-phase rate increase to pay for improvements to the city’s water utility.

Cause No. 40953, is a modification to a settlement agreement with the Indiana Office of the Utility Consumer Counselor reached in 1998 and will be implemented in two phases.  The utility is authorized to increase rates immediately to pay for improvements that have already been completed.

The average bill for customers who use 5000-gallons of water a month will increase from $14.60 to $20.51.

The second phase of the increase will be implemented when the company finishes the construction of a new well field and water treatment plant.

The City of Delphi Water Utility is located in Carroll County, Indiana.  It serves nearly 1200 residents.
