Circumstances:  On May 4, 1976, Bennett Brown was last observed in Chicago after completing his freshman year at Northern Illinois University, in Dekalb, Illinois (west of Chicago). Brown was believed to have been wearing blue jeans, white Adidas style tennis shoes, and a red, hooded, front zipper type sweatshirt. Brown indicated he was leaving Chicago to go work at a boys’ camp, but the name of the camp and address is not known. Brown’s body was found in rural Lawrence County near the end of May. Evidence indicated Brown had been stabbed multiple times.
