LARE LOGJAM REMOVAL GRANT
After several meetings in 2014 and 2015 with DNR and a tour of some of the logjams, the Randolph County SWCD applied for a LARE grant with DNR on the Mississinewa River Watershed in Randolph County for the removal of several logjams including 3 category IV logjams.
In March of 2015, The Randolph County SWCD was awarded a $100,000.00 LARE grant (the maximum amount allowed) for the removal of 8 logjams in the Mississinewa River Watershed in Randolph County. The grant will cover 80% of the project costs not to exceed $80,000.00.
We held informational meetings for landowners/operators in the removal area informing them of the process in regard to the removal of the logjams.
