The Martin SWCD truly believes that our children are our future. The District starts educating our youth through our Farm Fair Event. This event is held every August coinsiding with the beginng of the school year. This year 117 Martin County fourth grade students were treated to the day long event. Students visited 12 booths educaing them on every thing from Bees to Farm Safety. The children also interacted with live animals and enjoyed a program from Silly Safari's. One of our fantastic Supervisors donated the lunch for the students. The students boarded the bus with a packet of take home information to share with parents and siblings. We feel that educating children when they are young, makes taking care of our resources a habit that they can grow up with and hopfully pass on to their children.
