On Friday, September 20, 2013 the Allen County SWCD along with the St. Marys, Upper Maumee and St. Joseph River Watershed Projects in cooperation with the Tri-State Watershed Alliance, Inc. organized an informative bus trip to Put-in-Bay. The trip featured a tour of the newly-remodeled Ohio State University Water Quality Lab. After the tour the guest boarded the research vessels for an informative, hands-on cruise of Lake Erie. We had farmers, Ag Retailers and SWCD staff and supervisors join on this trip. Those that joined us got a firsthand look into the ongoing research at Stone Lab. Those programs and projects are helping to identify the causes of the harmful algal blooms and invasive species in Lake Erie.
