Section 1 runs from I-64 north of Evansville to S.R. 64 near Oakland City and is approximately 13 miles in length. The Record of Decision was received on December 12, 2007. Section 1 was divided into 5 design/construction contracts. The first was a Design-Build contract, while the other four contracts were traditional Design-Bid-Build contracts.
Section 1 is now open to traffic.
