Phase I construction west of S.R. 3 was opened to traffic in late 2013. It extends 4.5 miles on the north side of North Vernon to a treminus at C.R. 400 West where new pavement connects to existing roadway. Phase I was completed in 2013.
Phase II construction of the U.S. Highway 50 bypass at North Vernon was completed in December 2017. This 3¼-mile $18.4 million project extends from State Road 3 east to a terminus on existing U.S. 50 just west of Buckeye Street and C.R. 75 East.
