The National Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) is approved by the Federal Highway Administration in accordance with Title 23 U.S. Code, Sections 109(d) and 402(a). The 2025 Indiana MUTCD (IMUTCD) is in substantial conformance with the National Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices under 23 CFR 655.603(b) and Indiana Code 9-21-2 and became effective on January 16, 2026.
