Proposed Improvement to U.S. 41 in Lake County (Des 1700025)

The proposed project is to construct a Two-Way Left-Turn Lane (TWLTL) along U.S. 41 from 3.35 miles south of U.S. 231 (to the south of W. 133rd Avenue) to U.S. 231. In order to establish the TWLTL, U.S. 41 will be widened in both directions throughout the length of the proposed construction area. The purpose of the project is to improve the safety of the corridor.

A public hearing was held March 23, 2026 to offer all interested persons an opportunity to comment on current preliminary design plans.
