Public Hearing Info

A one-hour public hearing on the proposed rule is scheduled for August 21, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., at the Indiana State Library, Authors’ Room, 315 West Ohio Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. If you missed the hearing it can be viewed virtually here.

A second one-hour public hearing on the proposed rule is scheduled for October 23, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the Indiana State Library, Board Room 401. The public may join the hearing virtually here.

Timeline

The public hearing was held on August 21, 2026. All comments are requested to be made by August 21, 2026. A second public hearing will be held on October 23, 2026. The Rule shall be sent to the Attorney General’s Office no later than October 26, 2026. The Attorney General’s Office has 45 days to approve the rule. It will then be forwarded to the Governor’s office for approval and after 15 days, sent to the Publisher. The rule will become effective 30 days after publication. This timeline may change during the process. The timeline will be updated when changes occur.

Comments on the proposed rule are accepted via mail or email.
