Credentialing Assistance (CA) Close-Out Information

  1. Soldiers can submit FY26 CA requests until Aug. 6, 2026 at 8 p.m. for courses or exams with start dates up to Sept. 20, 2026.
  2. Soldiers will not be able to submit FY26 CA requests for start dates from Sept. 21-30 2026.
  3. Soldiers may submit FY27 CA requests beginning Sept. 14, 2026 for courses or exams that start on or after Oct. 29, 2026.
  4. As a reminder, Soldiers must submit CA requests at least 45 days prior to the start date of the course or exam but not more than 90 days before the course start date.

The Credentialing Assistance Request (CAR) funds non-degree related or MOS-related professional certifications/licenses. Follow the steps below to create and submit your CAR to pay for training, books and exam fees for civilian credentials related to your personal goals or Miliary Occupational Specialty (MOS). Certificate programs at Ivy Tech, Vincennes or other Commission for Higher Education (CHE) -approved providers may qualify

Tuition and mandatory fees: Consumable fees and certification exams must be charged through the university and should not exceed the total cost of tuition for the term.

Other requirements:

  1. Students must submit the NGSG application through ScholarTrack
  2. Students must be eligible to receive state financial aid – possessing state financial aid eligibility units.
  3. Students must file the FAFSA and have no present edits restricting them from receiving the NGSG.
  4. Students can enroll part-time or full-time.
  5. Remain in good standing with the Indiana National Guard.
  6. Maintain Satisfactory Academic Performance with the institution where NGSG is being utilized.
  7. As many INNG Service Members attend civilian training in part-time status, applicants will have one year per 15 Credit Hours to complete their certificate program, e.g. a 30 credit hour program must be completed in two years.
