Who We Are

Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity Policy

Indiana Balance of State (IN-502) Continuum of Care Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Policy is as follows. Our housing projects and assistance programs do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, religion, creed, sex, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, political affiliation, union activity, disability (including physical or mental handicap or developmental disability), national origin, ancestry, age, inability to pay for services, lifestyle, familial status, HIV/AIDS status, military status, or any other class protected by federal, state, or local law. We ensure all citizens have equal access to information about the program and have equal access to the financial assistance and services provided under this program.

Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing. Recipients and sub recipients must maintain copies of their marketing, outreach, and other materials used to inform eligible persons of the program to document compliance with the requirements in § 578.93(c).

Research has found racial disparities in rates of homelessness. All recipients of funds from the Indiana Balance of State CoC should consider and address racial inequities to achieve positive outcomes for all persons experiencing homelessness.
