Landlord Information
- You can list your property online for free at https://www.affordablehousing.com/list-your-property/ or IndianaHousingNow.org and indicate that you are open to accepting tenants that hold Section 8 vouchers.
- Here’s a brief rundown of what you can expect if you decide to rent to a Section 8 voucher holder:
- The family will provide you with a copy of their voucher and a Request for Tenancy Approval (RTA).
- You will need to complete the RTA, and the tenant will return that to their case manager.
- If the unit is determined to be rent reasonable, the case manager will schedule an inspection of the unit.
- If the unit passes inspection, you will need to provide your W9 and proof of ownership to the case manager.
PLEASE NOTE: Although families are screened for criminal history as part of the program eligibility process, the landlord/owner is responsible for their normal background and credit checks.
