IHCDA on the move...

July was a month full of activity, travel and networking for IHCDA staff. With July bringing Black Expo festivities, staff took advantage of the great opportunities to spread the word about IHCDA programming. The Indiana Foreclosure Prevention Network (IFPN) team attended the Indiana Black Expo (IBE) Summer Celebration, exhibiting for three days and sharing information about foreclosure assistance available through the Hardest Hit Fund. The message didn’t stop with IBE, as the IFPN “Faces of Foreclosure” campaign has been running on Youtube and Facebook.

Team IHCDA also participated in a variety of groundbreakings and ribbon cuttings for communities the agency has helped to fund through Rental Housing Tax Credits, HOME, and the Development Fund. We want to congratulate the communities of Walnut Commons, Hawthorne Hills, North Harrison Senior Apartments, and the Homes of Oakland City on their progress in providing affordable housing across our state. In addition, staff also attended the grand opening of the Growing Opportunities greenhouse in Bloomington. This innovative program brings together multiple community partners to not only grow nutritious vegetables, but also provide job training opportunities to persons with disabilities. We were also pleased to attend the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership (INHP) for their annual community breakfast and shared in the celebration of the power of homeownership.

We know our partners work year-round to promote self-sufficiency and opportunity for all Hoosiers. Thanks to the many organizations who share the agency’s dedication to housing opportunities, family self-sufficiency and strong communities.
