Phase IV: Infrastructure and Cost Analysis
Scope of Work
Phase IV includes an evaluation of water supply infrastructure alternatives, including source, treatment, and distribution systems recommended to address future water demand and/or availability, as identified by Phase III. Phase IV may also include an analysis of a regional water supply reservoir.
The tasks to be performed in Phase IV will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Task 1 Evaluation of supply infrastructure alternatives to address the forecasted water demand, including any identified water supply shortages. The evaluation should include:
- hydraulic analysis of alternatives
- environmental siting conditions
- regulatory and permitting considerations
- estimated construction costs
- cost benefit analysis
- timeline for construction
Task 2 Evaluation of system interconnections (both emergency and permanent) and the technical, regulatory, legal, and operational considerations that would need to be addressed in order to wheel water from one system to the next, such as different source water and resulting regulatory requirements and differences in disinfectants used in distribution systems
Task 3 Participate in:
- One, in-person kick-off meeting
- One, in-person public meeting
- Monthly progress meetings, which may be conducted by phone, for the duration of the project
Task 4 Evaluation of a regional water supply reservoir, if needed
Task 5 Provide summary and recommendations
The deliverable for this project is a written report detailing the water supply infrastructure alternatives in the study area.
Updates
The IFA will hold a public meeting to provide an overview of the study and a forum for asking questions. The date of the public meeting has not yet been determined.
