DOC Supervisory Program Overview
DOC Supervisory was standardized on July 1, 2025 to a 3-day program for all regions and is continuing to be offered at the regional sites. DOC Supervisory has incorporated the Leading From Within Supervisory Foundation Workshop as Day 1 of the training, where our new supervisors will learn more about building stronger working relationships with staff, creating engagement with their direct reports, and helping staff find fulfillment in their role. We have also developed curriculum on MEI (Merit, Excellence, and Innovation), and updated our program to include more scenario and roleplay activities.
The program focuses on fundamental competencies of supervision, such as, Coaching, Performance Management, etc. All areas that are related to personnel performance have been developed in collaboration with the State Personnel Department. This program is mandatory for all supervisory classifications to complete with 12 months of assuming the supervisory role.
If you are currently a supervisor for the department and you are interested in becoming an adjunct instructor for this program, please reach out to the Program Dean.
