Retirement

The State of Indiana offers two different retirement plan options.

  • The Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) offer a retirement plan called the Public Employees’ Retirement Fund (PERF). For more information about this plan, visit the INPRS webpage.
  • The Hoosier S.T.A.R.T. 457 and 401(a) plans, like their private sector counterpart, the 401(k) plan, offer public employees a voluntary way to save for their retirement through tax deferred contributions to their own individual accounts. Visit Hoosier START for more information.
