Registered Composting Facility Annual Report

Indiana Code 13-20-10-8, as added by Public Law 84-1992, requires composting facilities to submit an annual report. The owner or operator of the composting facility should submit it to IDEM by January 31 of each year. The report will indicate the amount of material processed by the composting facility during the preceding year and the final disposition of the compost. The facility should use daily intake records, scale receipts, and other material intake records to calculate annual amount processed. Facilities without weighing scales should use the most appropriate conversion factors.

How to Submit the Composting Facility Annual Report

The Composting Facility Annual Report should be submitted electronically through the Re-TRAC Connect online reporting system. Accounts have already been created for each facility, and the credentials have been distributed. A list of the currently registered composting facilities [PDF] is available, along with a summary of composting materials received [XLS] from 1994 to 2019. Please note that quantities from 1994 to 1998 are expressed in cubic yards, while quantities from 1998 to present are expressed in tons.
