Due to the resources required to provide adequate review of data received, the Office of Water Quality (OWQ) cannot accept hardcopy data submittals through the External Data Framework (EDF). The EDF offers three options for submitting your data to OWQ electronically:
- Online data entry
- Microsoft Excel Template
- Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
EDF participants may use any of these options. However, those with smaller or simpler data sets – relatively few sites, results, and/or parameters – will likely find online data entry through the Secondary Data Portal easiest. Organizations with larger and or more complex data sets, such as those with ongoing monitoring programs and or numerous sites may find the spreadsheet template more efficient. OWQ also provides technical assistance to such organizations to facilitate sharing their data through an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) [PDF] if desired.
For questions regarding how to submit your water quality data through the EDF or for assistance with submittals or developing an EDI, you can contact the Secondary Data Coordinator via the Office of Water Quality.
