Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) Data Map

SO2 is a gaseous pollutant that is emitted primarily by industrial furnaces or power plants burning coal or oil containing sulfur. At high concentrations, breathing can be impaired. Damage to vegetation can also result.

IDEM operates seven continuous SO2 monitoring sites that are polled hourly in order to obtain the most current information. This continuous data is available interactively by clicking on the map or the table:
