Please note that there are six sections within the branch which specialize in specific industries. To be directed to the appropriate section chief, permit applicants should have the following information ready prior to the call:
- Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for your source operations
- Location of the source and any existing air permit number
- Brief description of the project or activity
- Any specific questions
- Your contact information
Air Permit Applications
When submitting an air permit application, send one (1) signed hard copy of the original application packet by courier mail or hand delivery directly to the Office of Air Quality Air Permits Branch at the following mailing address:

Submit a Preliminary Electronic Copy of the Signed Application by Email
In addition to submitting a signed hard copy of the original application, you may also submit a preliminary electronic copy (in Adobe Acrobat PDF format) by email to: airpermitapps@idem.IN.gov
