The Indiana Office of Tourism Development (IOTD) announced today that their Marketing Asset Grant application period is now open. IOTD created this matching grant opportunity to assist organizations that focus on tourism promotion and development. Assets that improve marketing effectiveness and increase efficiency will be considered.
“Our grant programs are having an impact on Indiana’s tourism economy,” said IOTD executive director Mark Newman. “Tourism is the sixth largest industry in the state and we look forward to seeing what kind of projects develop through these programs that help further tourism’s vital role in Indiana’s economy.”
The Marketing Asset Grant program is designed to fund the creation of assets that boost a tourism entity’s marketing and promotional impact. Grants will be funded on a $1:$1 matching ratio, not to exceed $20,000. Projects should target the development of tourism infrastructure or collaborative marketing initiatives that strategically align attractions, destinations and regions, incorporate new technology, enhance the visitor experience and increase the likelihood of visitation from outside the local area. This program is dedicated to fostering collaboration and will reward those proposals that demonstrate shared investment on the part of multiple partners in the public, private and non-profit sectors. This program will not fund paid advertising or media buys.
To assist local organizations with the development of their applications and to answer questions about the Marketing Asset Grant program, IOTD is hosting a webinar from 10am-12pm on Tuesday, June 7. Parties interested in the webinar should send questions and requests to join to IOTD project manager Ali Meyer (firstname.lastname@example.org).
