A-F Accountability Resources

Beginning with the 2011-12 academic year, the Indiana State Board of Education adopted the use of an A-F system for determining a school or corporation's level of academic performance. In 2013, the Indiana General Assembly enacted P.L. 286-2013, which required the State Board to adopt a rule establishing new A-F categories and new standards of assessing student performance based on a measurement of individual student academic performance and growth to proficiency. The rule was adopted May 7, 2015 and is effective March 1, 2016- that is applicable beginning with the 2015-16 school year.

The new model is based on student performance, individual student growth and, for high schools, college and career ready indicators. For more information on the new A-F system, including a link to the administrative rule, an overview of the model, a grade calculation workbook, please visit the IDOE's Student-Centered Accountability webpage.  For more general accountability information, including links to Annual Performance Reports and historical A-F results, please visit the IDOE's Office of Accountability.
