Tetanus

Cases = 0

There were no reported cases of tetanus in Indiana during 2000. From 1990-2000, Indiana had a total of 11 reported cases of tetanus; 3 of these occurred during 1996-2000 (see Figure Tet1). Tetanus is preventable by appropriate vaccination, and cases of tetanus occur almost exclusively among persons who are unvaccinated or inadequately vaccinated.
