LHD-IDOH BI-MONTHLY WEBCASTS

The webcasts are hosted bi-weekly via Teams on Tuesdays starting January 3, 2023, by the Deputy State Health Commissioner. LHDs have the opportunity to receive updates regarding current public health issues on both state and national levels as well as share local health department best practices. EVENTS and TRAININGS

Local Public Health Leadership Symposiums

The Spring 2023 Local Public Health Leadership Symposium will be held on March 22, 2023. The Fall 2023 Local Public Health Leadership Symposium will be held on October 25, 2023. Both events will be held at the Garrison at Ft. Harrison State Park.

Public Health Nurse Conference

The 2023 Public Health Nurse Conference will take place on  June 28-29, 2023, at the 502 East Event Center in Carmel.

Public Health Nurse/Environmental Health Specialist Orientation

The PHN/EHS Orientation will be held December 5-6, 2023 at IDOH. More details to follow.

OVERVIEW of EVENTS and TRAININGS

Public Health Leadership Symposiums

These symposiums are held in the fall and spring of each year. Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits are offered to all Health Officers who attend. The purpose of the semi-annual meetings is to provide ongoing training and opportunities for the local health department staff to meet and network with their colleagues and peers.

Public Health Nurse Conference

Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) credits are offered to all Public Health Nurses who attend.

Public Health Nurse/Environmental Health Specialist Orientation

This orientation is held annually near the end of the year in collaboration with the Environmental Health Division at the Indiana Department of Health. The purpose of the meeting is to provide ongoing training for nurses and environmentalists. The event also provides opportunities to meet and network with colleagues and peers.
