Governor's Public Health Commission

On August 18, 2021, Governor Eric J. Holcomb established by executive order the Governor's Public Health Review Commission to study Indiana's public health system.  The Governor’s Public Health Commission will be co-chaired by former state Sen. Luke Kenley, who has spent decades managing complex issues and budgets for the state, and Dr. Judy Monroe, who served as Indiana’s state health commissioner from 2005 to 2010. State Health Commissioner Kris Box is appointed the Commission’s secretary.  Congresswoman Susan Brooks, who formerly represented the Fifth Congressional District, serves as a non-voting citizen advisor and brings a wealth of federal experience in preparedness, public health workforce, and more.

Public Comment

The Governor's Public Health Commission will actively seek input from the public.  Public comment can be submitted electronically through our online form.

In early 2022, we intend to conduct several listening tours across the state to hear from communities on ways we can promote, protect, and improve the health and safety of all Hoosiers.


Our next meeting will be on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern via Zoom.  Members of the public may watch the proceedings via livestream.

This meeting will focus on childhood and adolescent health integration.  The meeting is planned to be held at the Indiana State Library in Indianapolis at 1:00 p.m. Eastern in the History Reference Room (315 W. Ohio St., Room 212, Indianapolis, IN).
