HoosierRx helps pay for your Medicare prescription drug premium
HoosierRx is Indiana’s State Pharmacy Assistance Program. It can help you pay your monthly Medicare Part D premium, or the prescription drug portion of the premium for a Medicare Advantage Plan with prescription drug coverage. HoosierRx can pay up to $70 per month to help with your
premiums if you are eligible and have Medicare Part D or a Medicare Advantage Plan that works with HoosierRx.
To qualify for HoosierRx:
- You must be 65 years of age or older and a resident of Indiana.
- For 2019, your annual income cannot be more than $18,975 for a single/widowed person or $25,605 for a married couple living together.
- You should have applied for “Medicare Extra Help” through Social Security and received a decision regarding “Extra Help” (the “Extra Help” program assists in paying Medicare prescription plan costs).
- Hoosier Rx only works with the following Medicare Prescription Drug Plans or Medicare Advantage Plans: AARP/United HealthCare, CIGNA, EnvisionRx, First Health, SilverScript, WellCare and Indiana University Health Plans.
If you are on full Medicaid, you are not eligible for HoosierRx.
