Workgroups and teams

The Office aims to create an equitable culture for FSSA employees, programs and policies, and the communities we serve. Our equity work is supported by teams that focus on specific topics including education, accountability, and policy.  Please direct any questions to healthyopportunities@fssa.in.gov.

  • Social Risk Factors Advisory Board: Provides ongoing feedback for efforts related to social drivers of health, including racial and social equity.
  • ADA Committee: Serves as a reference for disability-related experiences, concerns, knowledge and opportunities for FSSA divisions and staff.
  • Race Equity Workgroup: Serves as a reference for racial equity-related issues, concerns and opportunities for FSSA divisions and staff
  • Social Equity Workgroup: Provides oversight and conducts activities to promote and remedy issues of social equity within FSSA
  • Community Engagement Team: Works across OHO teams and workgroups to ensure representation of community voice in FSSA’s work, with an emphasis on minoritized communities.
  • Education Team: Provides ongoing education to inform decisions to FSSA employees about issues related to racial and social equity
  • Capacity Building Team: Ensures FSSA ability, skills, and capacity to meaningfully engage with service populations in equitable ways and to foster an environment supportive of minoritized staff within the agency
  • Mission and Leadership Team: Ensures divisions are meaningfully addressing issues of racial and social equity through hiring, promotion and internal management.
  • Policy Team: Updates and assesses division policies and practices that may directly or inadvertently exacerbate racial equity.
  • Accountability Team:  Create processes for holding divisions and offices accountable for equity-related efforts, and for oversight in equity-related issues in data management, collection and assessment.
