***New this year, we will have a reverse job fair. We will bring in 10-20 veterans with multiple skill sets. This reverse job fair will entail the veterans sitting behind a table, and the HR professionals walking up and interacting with them.***
Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs will be hosting the 3rd annual How & Why to Hire a Veteran Summit. This event will be taking place on Thursday, September 27th, 2018. The event will be held at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Center; 31 West Ohio Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204. The cost of attending includes: dinner and drinks on the evening of the 26th; breakfast, lunch, and break snacks on the 27th. Registration will be capped at two representatives per company, this will allow more companies to be able to attend and learn the many benefits of hiring veterans.
There will be an Ice Breaker on the evening of Wednesday, September 26th. Registration will begin at 4:00 pm in the Panorama Ballroom on the 21st floor. We have a block of 15 hotel rooms set aside, if you need a room the night of September 26th. The rooms in this block will be first come, first serve; and may go fast. Registration on the morning of the 27th will be held in the Conference Assembly area on the lower level and will begin at 7:30 am and run until the start of the event at 9:00 am.
There will be guest speakers who will address the transition of veterans from military duty to civilian employment. Breakout sessions will include: companies who have a veteran organization within their business, Dale Carnegie Skills for Success, and much more.
