On Sept. 8, 2020, DOR launched the second phase of the four-part Project NextDOR tax modernization project, which allows business customers with sales and withholding tax obligations to register for its new e-services portal, the Indiana Taxpayer Information Management Engine (INTIME).
Designated tax types that moved to INTIME in Rollout 2 versus which tax types remain in INtax are illustrated in the graphic to the left.
User guides are available to help business customers prepare to move their sales and withholding tax accounts and assist with the migration process from INtax to INTIME. Guides and how-to videos are posted below.

What Happened on Sept. 8, 2020?
New Business Customers
As of Sept. 8, 2020, when a new business registers with the Secretary of State through INBiz, customers receive an automated email from DOR with a Letter ID and instructions on how to register for the e-services portal, INTIME.
Customers create a username and password for their new INTIME account, and are encouraged to review the INTIME User Guide to help securely manage, file and pay their business tax obligations for sales and withholding.
Existing Business Customers
Existing customers who file sales and withholding taxes via INtax began migrating their accounts to INTIME on Sept. 8, 2020 to continue managing their tax accounts online securely via the new portal.
This process involves customers creating a username and password for INTIME by using a special migration code (displayed in INtax beginning September 8) unique to the specific user and their business access. An INtax to INTIME Migration Quick Start Guide is available to assist customers with the INTIME logon creation process and account migration.
INtax remains accessible until Dec. 31, 2020, but functionality is greatly reduced to file and pay only for current filing periods. Existing customers are highly encouraged to immediately switch to INTIME to take advantage of all the new functionalities the secure, online e-services portal has to offer including:
- Manage, file and pay tax obligations
- Easy-to-use, direct messaging with DOR representatives
- Availability of filing history for the past three calendar years
Practitioners
Practitioners began registering with INTIME and importing client lists from INtax on September 8. A special migration code unique to the specific user and their business access was provided within INtax and an INtax to INTIME Migration Quick Start Guide is available to assist with the transition process.
Since September 8, practitioners have been able to file and pay for existing clients, but do not have the ability to add new clients within INtax. INtax will remain available to support the Indiana filing requirement for the 2020 WH-3 between January 1 and Feb. 28, 2021.
Moving to INTIME means practitioners immediately benefit from the many new system features including the flexibility to control access to accounts. To take advantage of these new features, practitioners are required to appoint one designated individual to control access to INTIME for their organization. The appointee must create the username and password and then register for access to INTIME.
