First text reads Prior/Past Reimbursement Vendor Update (EANS I)Subtext reads To better assist eligible nonpublic schools, we are updating vendor processing for PRIOR reimbursements, removing the requirement for past vendors to be registered on the System for Award Management (sam.gov) and the Indiana Secretary of Education (INBiz). Nonpublic Schools will still have to ensure those past/prior services/activities were secular, neutral, and non-ideological, and the vendor used was independent of the nonpublic school. An email was sent on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 with further instructions.; reminder, reimbursement is not limited to just the two examples listed in the email.

First section reads To better assist eligible nonpublic schools with purchasing future items from big corporations such as, but not limited to, Target, Walmart, Meijer, Menards, Big Lots, Lowe's, Home Depot, Wayfair, Amazon, and Apple, the vendor registration requirement has been removed for big corporations. Please do ask if you are unsure if a vendor is considered a big corporation or not.

NOTE: that the nonpublic school will, most likely, only be able to use larger corporations, if the nonpublic school is able to purchase future allowable items with local funds and seek future reimbursement.

No. Section 312(d)(4)(A) specifically authorizes a non-public school to request “supplies to sanitize, disinfect, and clean school facilities.” This authority does not extend to contracting with a vendor to perform the cleaning. If a non-public school has contracted for cleaning and seeks reimbursement, an SEA may reimburse it for the cost of supplies but not for the full cleaning contract.
