Wabash Lowlands Fish & Wildlife Area, Posey County- Acquired in 1995, these 1,298 acres contain high quality lowland flatwoods, sloughs, and bottomland forests with adjacent tillable land. Located at the confluence of the Ohio and Wabash Rivers, this biologically significant area connects a larger bottomland hardwood ecosystem of 12,000 acres. Over 70 state threatened or endangered species occur within the area.
