Statewide Burn Ban Status

Burn ban status information is provided by each county's emergency management agency. As counties notify the state, the map updates with that information.

Restrictions on outdoor burning activities, or "burn bans," may be ordered by any local fire chief for his or her jurisdiction, or they may be imposed by the legislative body of a city, town or county. While the Indiana State Fire Marshal does not declare local burn bans, the Fire Marshal supports local efforts to reduce the fire risk escalated by dry weather.
Clark, Floyd, Lake and Porter counties have additional restrictions on residential open burning according to Indiana Administrative Code 326 4-1. Visit the Indiana Department of Environmental Management's Open Burning webpage for details.
