Bob Quadrozzi, JCDC Director presented recommendations for the County Council to use as a guide for tax abatements.  Four recommendations were discussed by the Tax Abatement Advisory Committee to be used as a guide for tax abatements.  The recommendations are as follows:  1) Tax Abatement request should create at least one (1) new job or retain a minimum of ten (10) current jobs.  2)  Pay level of any "new" job created should be at least $1.00 in excess of current minimum wage.  3)  If total capital invested exceeds $250,000, the council, based on the Tax Abatement Committee's recommendation, may deviate from guidelines (1) and (2) above.  4)  Awarded  abatements with zero new job creation may range as follows: A) Real Property 1 to 10 years B)  Personal Property  1 to 5 years.  It is noted that the council may approve exceptions.  Gerald Kirby made a motion to accept the recommendations from the Tax Abatement Committee.  George Meehan seconded the motion and motion passed unanimously.
